What is a Dolly Zoom?

A dolly zoom combines “dollying,” or physically moving a camera on a track, with a zoom produced by the camera lens. This cinematography technique can be used to convey a growing sense of dread.

Visit Jaws: The Exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles to experience an interactive dolly setup. Use this app in gallery to re-create the iconic dolly zoom shot from Jaws.
